Call for Nominations and Elections – 2024


Dear Members,

To further our commitment to empowering women in the energy sector, we are excited to announce upcoming elections for key leadership positions within our Network.

We therefore invite all members to nominate dedicated and qualified individuals to serve in the following capacity:

1. MID & DOWNSTREAM DIRECTOR  

Job Summary:

The Director of Mid & Downstream supports the President in shaping network strategies, with a focus on opportunities in the midstream sector, encompassing oil and gas processing, storage, transportation, and marketing.

Responsibilities include:

  • Policy development, public awareness initiatives, financial reporting, and representing WIEN to external partners and government forums.
  • This role contributes to overall organizational strategy, fosters innovation, oversees internal operations, cultivates stakeholder relationships, and evaluates goal achievement.

Qualification:

Board membership is required, and candidates should possess a strong energy sector understanding, innovation, leadership, relationship management, strategic planning, operations enhancement skills, and international travel readiness.

2. RESEARCH & STRATEGY DIRECTOR 

Job Summary:

The Policy & Strategy Director leads strategic planning and policy implementation based on sector analysis.

Responsibilities encompass:

  • Policy development, advocacy, and collaboration to align with WIEN’s strategic priorities and membership needs.
  • The role involves influencing key stakeholders amid sector transformations, enhancing the network’s profile, and partnering with energy sector leaders. Continuous adaptation to policy developments and assessing effectiveness are key components, alongside collaboration with the Business Development & Publicity Director for strategic positioning and stakeholder engagement.

Qualification:

Board membership, a relevant graduate degree, 5 years plus of energy sector experience, team leadership skills, and international travel readiness are prerequisites.

Candidate’s Eligibility Criteria: 

All candidates interested in any of the positions must satisfy the following conditions:

  1. Be an active member of WIEN for at least two (2) years
  2. Be financially up to date
  3. Have demonstrated contributions to the activities of WIEN in the 2 years preceding their nomination
  4. Be a member in good standing. Must not have been indicted by the association or a court of law, or judicial panel for any offense or gross misconduct or for any criminal offense or professional misconduct
  5. Must have a first degree from an accredited university
  6. Must be technically experienced and be professionally recognized in the industry with a good sphere of influence
  7. Must be able to demonstrate integrity, good moral character and personality

How to Nominate:  

Nomination forms for both incumbent and new aspirants shall be completed online on the WIEN website on or before midnight on the deadline date as published by the Electoral Committee.
