Women in Energy Network

WIEN’s Strong Presence at Gas Investment Forum 2026

The Women In Energy Network (WIEN) was well represented at the recently concluded 4th Gas Investment Forum (GIF 2026), held from 29–30 September 2026 at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos, under the theme, “Positioning Nigeria as Africa’s Global Gas Powerhouse.”

As the Strategic Industry Partner for the Future Leaders & Inclusive Investment Programme, WIEN joined industry leaders, policymakers, investors, financiers, and energy professionals from across Nigeria and beyond to engage on the opportunities, challenges, and investments shaping the future of the country’s gas sector.

For WIEN, the Forum was more than an opportunity to attend. It was a platform to speak, connect, showcase, learn, and contribute to conversations across Nigeria’s evolving gas value chain.

Speaker Representation – WIEN Women Shaping the Conversation

A key highlight of WIEN’s participation was the presence of nine outstanding women who took on speaking roles across the Forum’s programme, bringing diverse expertise from across the energy, finance, and gas sectors.

Representing WIEN were:

  • Eyono Fatayi-Williams, President, Women In Energy Network (WIEN)
  • Engr. Yetunde Taiwo, President, Nigerian Gas Association (NGA); GM – Integrated Gas Development, FIRST Exploration and Petroleum Development Company Ltd.
  • Asanimo Omezi, Executive Secretary, Women In Energy Network
  • Olajumoke Cecilia Ajayi FNAPE, President, Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) and MD/CEO, West African Exploration and Production Company
  • Audrey Joe-Ezigbo, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, Falcon Corporation
  • Engr. Chichi Emenike, Acting MD & Gas Asset Manager, Neconde Energy Limited and Second Vice President, Nigerian Gas Association
  • Anne Obode, Team Lead, Evrytn CNG
  • Oluwatoyin Aina, Deputy General Manager – Group Head, Energy, First Bank of Nigeria
  • Mariah Lucciano-Gabriel, GM, Gas Commercial, Sahara Group

Together, their participation reflected the depth of expertise among WIEN women and women within Nigeria’s energy industry in general, with perspectives spanning gas development, exploration and production, infrastructure, commercialization, finance, investment, and industry leadership.

From discussions on unlocking investment opportunities and developing Nigeria’s gas infrastructure to conversations around domestic gas utilization, financing, inclusive growth, and the future of the gas workforce, WIEN women were actively contributing to the ideas and strategies shaping Nigeria’s gas future.

Notably, Audrey Joe-Ezigbo, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Falcon Corporation, chaired and delivered the keynote for the Downstream & Midstream Gas Conversation on “Powering Nigeria’s Domestic Gas Market: Scaling Infrastructure and Market Growth,” highlighting the importance of infrastructure and market development in unlocking Nigeria’s domestic gas potential.

The strong representation of WIEN women across the Forum reinforced the Network’s commitment to ensuring that women are not only present in industry conversations, but are also leading, influencing, and shaping them.

Advancing Inclusive Investment and Future Leadership

WIEN’s participation also aligned directly with its role as Strategic Industry Partner for the Future Leaders & Inclusive Investment Programme at GIF 2026.

The programme focused on the importance of developing a skilled, diverse, and future-ready workforce capable of supporting Nigeria’s ambitions across the gas value chain. It brought attention to women-led businesses, talent development, innovation, entrepreneurship, and inclusion as critical components of the country’s gas growth story.

This focus resonates strongly with WIEN’s mission of advancing women’s participation and leadership across the energy value chain while creating opportunities for the next generation of women entering the industry.

As Nigeria seeks to translate its abundant gas resources into investment, industrialization, energy security, and economic growth, ensuring that women have a meaningful seat at the table remains essential.

WIEN on the Exhibition Floor

Beyond the conference sessions, WIEN also exhibited at GIF 2026, providing an opportunity to showcase the network, its work, and its programmes to industry stakeholders, professionals, potential partners, and prospective members.

The exhibition created a space for WIEN to engage directly with attendees, share information about its initiatives, and build new connections across the energy ecosystem.

The Forum’s exhibition and investment showcase brought together operators, service providers, project developers, investors, and other stakeholders, creating opportunities for networking, collaboration, and visibility across the gas industry.

For WIEN, the exhibition was another avenue to demonstrate that advancing women in energy goes beyond advocacy. It involves creating platforms, building networks, facilitating opportunities, and connecting women to the wider industry.

Building Nigeria’s Gas Future Together

GIF 2026 brought together some of the leading voices in Nigeria’s gas industry around a shared ambition: positioning Nigeria as a competitive and globally relevant gas powerhouse. The Forum explored investment, infrastructure, financing, market development, local content, and the capabilities required to unlock the country’s gas potential.

WIEN’s participation added an important dimension to these conversations by highlighting the expertise, leadership, and contributions of women across the gas value chain.

With nine WIEN women taking the stage and the Network maintaining an exhibition presence, WIEN demonstrated the value of having women actively represented across the platforms where decisions about Nigeria’s energy future are being discussed.

We celebrate our incredible WIEN women who represented the network at GIF 2026, and everyone who contributed to making WIEN’s participation a success.

As Nigeria advances its Decade of Gas ambitions, WIEN remains committed to ensuring that women are equipped, visible, and empowered to play an active role in building the energy future of Nigeria.
