WIEN SHOWCASES LEADERSHIP AND INDUSTRY INFLUENCE AT NAICE 2026
Event Recap | Women in Energy Network
The Women in Energy Network (WIEN) made a remarkable impact at the SPE Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition (NAICE) 2026, reaffirming its role as a leading platform for advancing women across Nigeria’s energy industry. Over the three-day conference, WIEN demonstrated its commitment to professional development, thought leadership, and meaningful industry collaboration through strategic engagements, expert-led discussions, and networking opportunities.
Thought Leadership and Expert Contributions
One of the highlights of WIEN’s participation was the contribution of its members to key conference sessions. Eleanor Okubor, Partner at McKinsey & Company, shared expert insights during the Topical Issues Workshop on “The Expanding Role of Independents in Nigeria’s Upstream: Reimagining Ownership, Operations and Financing.”
WIEN also led conversations on inclusive leadership through the Women Leadership Programme, where Sherifat Adegbenro, Adebola Asemota, and Sandra Agho inspired participants with practical perspectives on empathy, well-being, and human-centred leadership.
Building Connections at the Exhibition
Beyond the conference sessions, WIEN’s exhibition booth became a hub for meaningful conversations with students, young professionals, industry practitioners, and partner organisations. Although NAICE 2026 adopted a more restrictive registration process that reduced general exhibition traffic, WIEN continued to build valuable relationships, engage prospective members, and showcase the programmes that are shaping the next generation of women leaders in energy.
WIEN also co-exhibited with Zoe Gordon & Co. Ltd, strengthening stakeholder engagement and creating additional opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
NAICE 2026 reinforced what WIEN stands for: creating opportunities, amplifying women’s voices, and building a stronger, more inclusive energy industry. Every conversation, partnership, and leadership contribution reflected WIEN’s mission to empower women at every stage of their careers and ensure they are represented where decisions shaping the future of the industry are made.
