The Women in Energy Network (WIEN) on Saturday, March 4, formally kicked off its high-powered activities lined up to commemorate the 2023 edition of the International Women’s Day (IWD) with a Global Mentoring Walk, in partnership with Vital Voices. The process commenced on the 28 of September 2022, with keyactivities on the timetable as follows; (a). Call for elections.(b). Announcement of guidelines, and issuance of the nominationforms by the 28th of September.(c). Submission of completed nomination forms by the 11th of October,(d). NCDMB, Waltersmith win WIEN’s gender diversity awards

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) and Waltersmith Petroman weekend emerged the two of the leading institutions recognized and celebrated for promoting gender diversity in the Nigerian petroleum industry, earning themselves the rare awards from the foremost Nigerian gender capacity advocacy group, Women in Energy Network (WIEN). In its premier end of year party and award night where it rolled out about 17 awards to corporate organizations and individuals for optimizing the full potentials and capacity of women in driving national economic and social development, WIEN named the NCDMB as the Most Gender Inclusive Agency in 2022. It was an eventful day on Thursday the 10th of November 2022. We had the pleasure of hosting a Women In Energy Network Session at the Energy Sustainability Conference hosted by Energy Institute Nigeria. Following the event was WIEN’s Inaugural Annual General Meeting; a hybrid event (online and physical) that conveyed live participants online from 16 other countries. This year’s Energy Sustainability Conference; Driving a Sustainable Energy Future, lay emphasis on the need to reevaluate strategies in order to transform the future of energy in Nigeria, and all of Africa.
